Tony founded Silicon Counsel LLP in 2004 to provide
companies with top quality legal counsel at reasonable cost.
Tony handles a wide range of business and technology 
transactions for California-based emerging companies 
primarily in the SaaS, software, hardware, cleantech and
services sectors.  Tony can also serve as an external general 
counsel, advising on general corporate and employment matters and handling 
customer, vendor, and other commercial contracts in online and offline contexts.  
Tony has completed transactions collectively valued at over $2 Billion. 

Tony previously founded zBox Company and served as its EVP of Corporate Development and General Counsel. zBox was a VC-funded technology company which received coverage from the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, TIME Magazine, the Oprah Show, and National Public Radio for its innovative consumer technology products and corporate alliances.  Prior to the acquisition of zBox’s product lines, Tony developed and negotiated zBox’s strategic and operational relationships with large companies.  Tony began his career as an associate at Shearman & Sterling, LLP, after a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Eugene F. Lynch of the United States District Court in San Francisco.

Tony has held leadership roles in various bar associations, including Board positions with the North American South Asian Bar Association (NASABA) and the South Asian Bar Association for Northern California (SABA). He also co-founded the SABA Life Members Roundtable, which enables collaboration among Northern California’s leading lawyers with an interest in the South Asian community. He has been a featured speaker at events hosted by the Association of Corporate Counsel, California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP), and other bar organizations. Tony accepted the Client Service Award from CMCP in 2006 on behalf of Silicon Counsel LLP.

Tony received his law degree in 1992 at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was admitted to the Order of the Coif and invited to the University of Virginia Law Review. Tony received his undergraduate degree in finance and economics in 1989 at Rockhurst College, where he graduated ranked first in his class.   Tony is admitted to the bar in California.
